North Kansas City Schools – Topping Elementary in Kansas City, Missouri invites applications for the 2026-27 1st Grade Teacher position. The teacher will deliver a flexible elementary program, build rapport with students, and collaborate with families and staff.

Formación

• Valid Missouri Teacher Certificate for the appropriate level.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsabilidades

• Teaches communications arts, social studies, mathematics, and science to pupils.
• Instructs pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter as per state law and district regulations.
• Develops lesson plans and provides individualized and small group instruction.
• Translates lesson plans into learning experiences to maximize instructional time.
• Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior.
• Evaluates pupils' academic and social growth and prepares progress reports.
• Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil progress.
• Identifies pupil needs and collaborates with staff to support learning.
• Creates learning environments with display areas and centers.
• Maintains professional competence through in-service and growth activities.
• Supplies and inventory management for classroom materials.
• Supervises pupils during the workday and assists with group activities.
• Administers standardized tests per district guidelines.
• Participates in curriculum development and faculty committees.
