Job summary

CAL Sports Academy is seeking a Youth Basketball Instructor/Coach for part-time work. You will teach fundamentals, run drills, and deliver engaging sessions for youth athletes, ages varied, focusing on skill development, confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

This role supports after-school and program-based activities in Lansdale and Souderton, Pennsylvania, with evening and weekend hours. Candidates should have basketball playing or coaching experience and a dependable, positive coaching

Qualifications

• Previous basketball playing, coaching, training, or instructional experience.
• Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and terminology.
• Ability to clearly demonstrate and teach basketball skills.
• Experience working with children or teenagers.
• Positive, energetic, patient, and encouraging coaching style.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, punctual, organized, and professional.
• Ability to work effectively with athletes of different ages and skill levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead organized, age-appropriate basketball instruction for youth.
• Teach fundamentals: ball handling, passing, shooting, defense, and footwork.
• Develop athlete basketball IQ and team concepts.
• Prepare lesson plans, drills, and progressions.
• Adapt instruction for different skill levels and ages.
• Provide clear feedback and demonstrations.
• Keep sessions engaging and appropriately challenging.
• Maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Set up and break down equipment for programs.
• Communicate professionally with athletes, parents, and staff.
