Wieland is hiring an Inspector Packer for the East Alton, IL facility. This entry-level role supports plant operations by inspecting products, directing material flow, and assisting in maintenance to minimize downtime.

Starting pay is $28.07/hour with a straight midnight schedule, on-site work, and bi-weekly pay. The role emphasizes safety and alignment with Wieland's 8 Golden Rules of Safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent attention to detail and safety awareness.
• Experience in manufacturing is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read packaging/shipping docs and measurement data.

Responsibilities

• Operate precision measuring equipment to verify customer specs.
• Measure width, gauge, and surface quality and record results.
• Band, pack, and identify customer material for shipping.
• Maintain equipment per Wieland policies and safety rules.
• Collaborate with maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
• Work with team to achieve department goals and safety standards.
• Follow safety procedures, report issues to Supervisor/HR.
• Perform daily housekeeping and routine product inspections.
