Job summary

BAE Systems in Aiken, SC is seeking an Inspector II to inspect machined and welded parts using a coordinate measurement machine (CMM) to meet blueprint requirements for shipment. You will audit shop floor operations and support the weekend shift on a 4/40 schedule, 3:15pm–1:45am, for a 03 months contract to hire.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with about one year of related experience, plus ability to read blueprints and work on second and weekend shifts.

Position Description:

The BAE Systems site in Aiken, South Carolina, supporting Combat Mission Systems, is seeking a Quality Auditor (Dimensional Inspector) for its Weekend Shift. In this role as a QA, you will work with a coordinate measurement machine (CMM) to inspect machined and/or welded parts to blueprint requirements for shipment to customer base. You'll also provide auditing support to shop floor operations.

Skills Required:

• Must have experience with and/or knowledge of basic inspection tools including scales, calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc.
• Able to read, comprehend, and work to blueprints.
• Able to support Second and Weekend Shift.
• Typically requires high school diploma or the equivalent, and one year of related working experience.

Skills Preferred:

• Coordinate measurement machine (CMM) experience.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge and experience.
• Weld inspection knowledge/experience.
• Faro Arm/Laser Tracker or Keyence experience.

Education Required

Typically requires high school diploma or the equivalent, and one year of related working experience.
