Job summary

Barnes Aerospace is seeking an Inspector, OEM to perform diversified inspection duties on aircraft parts and cross-train for additional functions. This role requires initiative and the ability to work independently to uphold the highest quality standards.

Core responsibilities include dimensional and visual inspections, reading technical data, and documenting compliance. Hours are 4:30pm–3am, Monday to Thursday, in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of related aerospace inspection experience.
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking ability.
• Experience reading blueprints and technical documents.
• FAA Certified Repairman or Airframe & Power Plant desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections on engine components.
• Ensure inspection compliance with manuals and data.
• Read and interpret engine manuals and other technical data for receiving, in-process and final inspection.
• Operate computerized measuring equipment and assist other inspectors.
• Document compliance to requirements on applicable documents and records.
• Perform a full spectrum of dimensional inspections with tight tolerances.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauges, etc.

Core Responsibilities:

• Perform dimensional and visual inspections on engine components.
• Ensure detailed quality inspection is in compliance with all applicable manuals and technical data.
• Read and understand engine manuals, illustrated parts manuals and other technical data to perform receiving, basic, in-process and final inspection activities.
• Operate computerized measuring equipment, train and assist other inspectors as required.
• Complete correct and concise documentation of compliance to requirements on organizational, customer and/or regulatory documents.
• Perform a full spectrum of dimensional inspections of parts involving extremely close tolerances.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as dial indicators, calipers, micrometers, gauges, ID micrometers, borescopes, pi tapes, etc.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of related experience, preferably in aerospace environment.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, good communication skills.
• Previous FAA Certified Repairman or Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic highly desirable.
• Proficiency in the use of measuring instruments (i.e. various micrometers, verniers, swing snap, and dial gauges, etc)
• Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents.
• Experience with CMM operation and programming is a differentiator.
• Good mathematical skills.

Education Requirements:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
