Job description

Quality Inspector

Supervise and verify the quality of medical packaging products to meet customer specifications and company standards. Pack finished product according to established guidelines and maintain documentation of inspections.

Shift
  • 1st Shift – 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • 2nd Shift – 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
  • 3rd Shift – 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Responsibilities
  • Review quality standards, production orders, drawings, and customer specifications; verify them with the supervisor and quality assurance department.
  • Physically and manually inspect products and dimensional characteristics; follow SOPs and work instructions for non‑conformances.
  • Review order requirements and prepare packaging materials—boxes, liners, bags, and other supplies—according to specifications.
  • Create labels by inputting information into the computer, printing labels, and verifying the accuracy of the content.
  • Wrap and pack product in compliance with order specifications and materials.
  • Accurately document quantity counts, using basic math, reading skills, and ruler measurements; complete required paperwork per department work instructions.
  • Obtain Quality Assurance approval, segregate rejects, record and summarize the inspection process, and notify operators of defects immediately.
  • Work the standard shift and, when needed, additional hours.
Required Skills & Abilities

Physical Requirements
  • Stand for long periods while performing duties.

Working Conditions
  • Controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Hearing protection recommended.
  • Hair, beard nets, and smocks required.
  • Exposure to manufacturing and printing equipment (moving parts, cutters, etc.).
  • Exposure to materials and handling equipment.
  • Exposure to odors associated with manufacturing.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade school certification or specialized training in electronics, engineering technology, or related field.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an independent contributor in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with assemblers and non‑technical personnel.
  • Ability to teach and coach others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with cross‑functional teams.
  • Adept at handling multiple assignments in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under limited supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 0‑3 years of manufacturing technician experience (preferred but not required).
  • Medical device experience (preferred but not required).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and basic Excel use for data analysis.
Special Requirements
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekends.
