Job summary

Cox in Orlando, FL is seeking an Automotive Vehicle Condition Inspector who will verify vehicle information, document findings, and photograph each vehicle's condition at intake.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and strong communication skills; some related experience is preferred. This is an on-site position with potential overtime and a strong emphasis on safety and procedure adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Verify vehicle information based on work order; identify damage, missing parts and mechanical problems by inspecting all customer vehicles at receipt.
  • Prepare and complete all necessary documentation.
  • Set up system for day-end; perform day-end procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures.
  • Write electronic condition reports (ECR).
  • Conduct OVE courtesy walks around inspections.
  • Photograph each vehicle's condition.
  • Maintain knowledge on improvements concerning body/mechanical and inspection techniques.
  • Demonstrate safety commitment by following safety procedures and supporting Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Verify vehicle information based on work order information - identify damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems by inspecting all customer vehicles at time of receipt (i.e., interior, exterior, odometer reading, trunk area, engine compartment), noting any damage or repair to frame/paint, engine noise, AC/heater operation, radio, tire condition, etc.
  • Prepare and complete all necessary documentation.
  • Set up system for day-end; perform day-end procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge to ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
  • Write electronic condition reports (ECR).
  • Conduct OVE courtesy walks around inspections.
  • Photograph each vehicle's condition.
  • Maintain a working knowledge on improvements and changes concerning body mechanical, frame labor, inspection techniques, etc.
  • Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.
Qualifications:
Minimum:
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Generally, less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Safe driver's needed; valid driver's license required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
Preferred:
  • Strong technical understanding, with good organizational skills needed.
  • Atten to detail to produce comprehensive and accurate condition reports.
  • Ability to multitask, follow directions and take instruction.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for prolonged periods of time; ability to bend, stoop, squat or kneel; ability to lift and hold at least 10lbs at waist level for an extended period of-time; ability to lift-up to 30 lbs.
Work Environment:
  • Exposure to outdoor weather and inclement conditions.
  • Moderate noise level.
  • May be exposed to fumes and odors.
  • May be required to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as business needs dictate.

USD 13.70 - 20.53 per hour

Compensation:

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $13.70 - $20.53/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits:

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
