Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks an Inspector 3 (2nd Shift) in San Diego, CA. You will inspect electronic units, subassemblies and mechanical units using blueprints, fixtures and gauges, and you’ll verify conformance to drawings and specs.

The role requires 4 years of inspection experience, IPC-A-610/620 and J-STD training, and US citizenship. Responsibilities include identifying defects, reworking units, and maintaining quality records while working in a team, often under a microscope.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Uses predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect visually in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds.
• Uses various measuring devices.
• Accepts, rejects, or reworks defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
• Works from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists.
• May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
• Performs line clearances after each lot to ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed.

What you will get to do:

The ideal candidate must be able to communicate in a team environment, have knowledge of inspection process, ability to work under a microscope, read engineering drawings, part lists, lift up to 30 pounds, sit for long periods of time, stand for long periods of time, and have knowledge of using Microsoft Office Suite.

Basic Qualifications for the Inspector 3 (2nd Shift):

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 4 years of inspection, quality control, quality, manufacturing, or other related experience.
• IPC-A-610/620 Training or experience.
• Must be available for 2nd Shift.
• J-STD Training or experience.
• US Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Torque Training or experience.
• Experience working in an ESD (electrostatic discharge) environment.
• PPE experience.
• Tableau software experience.
• SAP experience.
• #MPR #QMACMP

Primary Level Salary Range: $56,000.00 - $93,400.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
