Job summary

RK&K is hiring an experienced Construction Inspector to join our CEI team in the Charlotte, NC area. The Construction Inspector will perform field inspections for transportation, highways and structural projects in the heavy civil industry.

Ideal candidates have at least two years of roadway inspection experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. NCDOT certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least two (2) years of roadway inspection experience for highway construction methods, materials, standards and specifications.
• Valid driver’s license and favorable driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• As a construction inspector you will perform complex and routine inspections of construction to evaluate if appropriate materials and construction processes are being used; and that construction conforms to plans, specifications, and special provisions
• Multitask management of project assignments
• Conduct field inspections
• Use mobile devices to document work - as required in North Carolina
• Reviews drawings to prepare for the inspection. Understands the design of the construction that will be inspected
• Documents the results of the inspection and communicates to the supervisor
• Conducts field measurements to establish quantities for pay item documentation as well as other contract administration documentation
• Inspects work zones for proper traffic control setup, erosion control devices and maintenance thereof, utility coordination and right-of-way issue resolution

RK&K is hiring an experienced Construction Inspector to join our Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) team in and around Charlotte, NC. The Construction Inspector will conduct field inspections for a wide range of Transportation, Highways and Structural construction projects in the heavy civil industry.

Essential Functions

• As a construction inspector in RK&K's Construction / CEI division you will perform complex and routine inspections of construction to evaluate if appropriate materials and construction processes are being used; and that construction conforms to plans, specifications, and special provisions
