Job summary

Aerotek is hiring an Inspector for an on-site contract-to-hire role in Santa Fe Springs, CA. The Inspector will perform Receiving, In-Process, and Final inspections, document inspections, and develop inspection plans to ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of aerospace inspection experience, strong blueprint & GD&T skills, and familiarity with AS9102. Calibrating tools and ERP documentation responsibilities are included.

Job Title: Inspector

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Inspector to ensure the highest quality standards in our manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections, adhering to quality processes and procedures, and maintaining detailed documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform Receiving, In-Process, and Final inspections according to quality processes and procedures.
• Complete all required documentation accurately.
• Conduct AS9102 first article inspection and other extensive inspections as per specifications.
• Document all inspections in accordance with established procedures and processes.
• Develop and review inspection plans to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Ensure quality standards are met for all components and assemblies for final acceptance.
• Maintain parts history folders, inspection reports, and prints/drawings.
• Calibrate and document hand tools and other inspection equipment.
• Perform visual inspections.
• Conduct hardness and electrical conductivity testing.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding GD&T symbols.
• Experience in aerospace inspection, particularly with AS9102 standards.
• 3-5 years of experience in aerospace inspection.
• Experience inspecting tubular and cylindrical components.
• Proficient in using calipers, micrometers, surface plates, and gages.
• Ability to measure tolerances to the tenths with no error.
• Good computer skills, with the ability to document work in an ERP system independently after training.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) is a plus but not required.

Work Environment

Work in a large, modern, and eco-friendly manufacturing environment. Available shifts include two options for the first shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, and one option for the second shift from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Flexibility to work overtime as needed is required. The facility is non-union and focuses on designing and manufacturing precision metallic tubular parts and assemblies for the commercial aircraft, aerospace, defense, and industrial markets.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
