Job summary

ResourceMFG is seeking an Inspector to verify dimensions and flatness of metal plates against customer specs. You will complete traceable inspection reports for each batch and promptly report any nonconforming material to the supervisor.

The role requires attention to detail, basic math, and the ability to read tolerances and work orders, with 1–2 years in a machine shop or metal inspection environment preferred.

• Inspect metal plates and materials to verify thickness, width, length, and flatness against customer specifications.
• Accurately complete inspection reports for material traceability (heat numbers, test numbers, and/or lot numbers).
• Identify and report nonconforming or out-of-tolerance materials to the lead or supervisor immediately.
• Maintain accurate, legible records for every batch inspected.
• Communicate discrepancies or quality concerns clearly and promptly.

• 1-2 years of experience in a machine shop or metal inspection environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of non-digital (analog/mechanical) micrometers preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret basic specifications, tolerances, and work orders.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Reliable and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
