Zeo Energy in Roanoke, VA is seeking a reliable Inspections Technician to join our solar team. You will work with AHJs, inspectors, customers, and field staff to be present for inspections, gather documents, photograph sites, and submit paperwork.

This role emphasizes punctuality, clear communication, and attention to detail as you support inspectors, help resolve minor issues, and ensure a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in solar or renewable energy is preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with customers, field employees, and corporate staff.
• Ability to navigate websites and customer relationship management software.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre-inspection prep to ensure documents are available and customers are ready.
• Arrive on site at or before the scheduled inspection time; be 15 minutes early.
• Conduct a pre-inspection walk around and address minor issues when possible.
• Support the Inspector and provide documents or answers as needed.
• Record information from the Inspector and relay requirements to the Inspection team.
• Follow SOPs for collecting on-site photos and uploading data to CRM/scheduling tools.
• Communicate with customers professionally to ensure a positive experience.

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable Inspections Technician to join our Roanoke solar team. As an Inspections Technician you will work directly with jurisdictional authorities (AHJs) and their inspectors, customers, and field team members to be present for and complete assigned inspections. You will be responsible for gathering required documents, being on time for the inspection time, communicating with the customer, collecting on-site photos, and submitting documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete pre-work prior to scheduled inspection to ensure documents are available and customers are prepared
• Arrive to site at the assigned time and at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled inspection time
• Conduct a pre-inspection walk around and fix any minor issues
• Support the Inspector and provide any documents or answer questions as needed
• Complete simple fixes, such as placing placards, as issues are identified
• Listen and record information from the Inspector about the assigned job or other jurisdictional requirements for future jobs, communicate those to the Inspection team
• Follow SOPs including collecting on-site photos, completing work checklists, and uploading data to the customer relationship management (CRM) or scheduling software
• Communicate with customers in a professional and effective manner making sure to create a positive customer experience
