Job summary

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, is seeking a Quality Inspector for our Santa Isabel, PR facility. You will inspect parts, assemblies, and materials to ensure conformance with drawings and specifications, using a range of inspection tools and data. The role requires close collaboration with supervisors and engineering to sustain product integrity.

The position is onsite in Puerto Rico with relocation not offered; strong English communication and attention to detail are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• HS diploma (or equivalent) with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to communicate in English (verbal and written).
• Knowledge of SAP systems and FAI processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, standards, and data.
• Use gauges, calipers, and micrometers to verify specifications.
• Perform daily inspections and reject non-conforming product.
• Maintain Quality Notifications and non-conformity records.
• Collaborate with engineering to report issues and drive improvements.
• Conduct random audits of processes, procedures, and products.

As a Quality Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of excellence. You’ll perform detailed inspections of parts, assemblies, raw materials, tooling, and instruments throughout various stages of the manufacturing process. Using a range of inspection methods and tools, you’ll validate that every component aligns with design data, engineering drawings, specifications, and contract requirements—helping maintain product integrity and customer trust.

This position is based at our Santa Isabel, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What You Will Do

• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, standards, technical data, and work instructions
• Use inspection tools (micrometers, gauges, scales, calipers, etc.) to verify specifications
• Perform daily inspections of materials and sub‑assemblies and reject non‑conforming product
• Identify discrepancies between plans and work instructions
• Examine materials and sub-assemblies daily and reject product using product procedures, specifications, and drawings
• Prepare and maintain Quality Notifications (QN), Rework Records, and non‑conformity documentation
• Make decisions based on established criteria, including stopping processes when required
• Conduct basic random audits of assembly processes, procedures, and products
• Manage special inspection processes and support final inspection activities
• Work closely with supervisors and engineering to report critical issues and support process improvements
• Recommend enhancements to inspection plans and procedures
• Participate in RRCA activities at the Quality Clinic (CPS)
• Perform additional responsibilities in other work areas as needed
• An essential function of this role is the ability to accurately see, read, and interpret information on screens and materials for extended periods. You will be required to successfully complete a post offer vision examination

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English (verbal and written)
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
• No disciplinary actions in record (5 years)

Qualifications We Prefer

• Knowledge of SAP systems and workflows
• Familiarity with First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements and processes
