Samsung Austin Semiconductor in Taylor, TX is seeking an Inspection Metrology Lead to guide a team of engineers in the new fab startup. You will plan, organize, and drive timely deliverables while maintaining quality in the process area.

You will oversee ongoing projects, mentor engineers, and report progress to leadership. The role requires strong communication, data‑driven decision making, and a safety‑first, continuous improvement mindset.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science.
• In‑depth knowledge of inspection techniques.
• Experience with PC, eBeam, Bright Field, Dark Field, SEM review.
• Understanding of daily tool sustaining activities.
• Calibration, matching, recipe creation and optimization, daily monitoring, and limitation management.
• Ability to interpret and drive data‑based improvement through critical analysis.
• Statistical analysis of technical data and translation of results into business actions.

Responsibilities

• Manage exempt personnel in the “Lead” role: lead and document complex projects, provide daily monitoring and feedback, mentor, and facilitate performance management.

Position Summary

The Inspection Metrology Lead will manage a team of engineers at Samsung’s new fab in Taylor, TX. This role will plan, organize, and drive timely team deliverables while maintaining quality in the process area. Clear communication and flexibility will be required in the rapidly changing fab startup environment. The lead will also oversee longer‑term projects, daily operations, and direct‑report progress after startup.

• Manage exempt personnel in the “Lead” role:
  • Lead and document complex projects, including baseline consideration and change‑point management.
  • Provide daily monitoring, direction, and feedback to direct reports.
  • Encourage career development, mentorship, and training opportunities.
  • Facilitate annual performance management.
• Communicate effectively with personnel and other technical leaders on technical projects, incidents or changes.
• Influence technical decision making with data and technical expertise in the process area.
• Report results to management clearly, concisely and in a timely manner.
• Encourage a safety‑first and continuous improvement culture.

The base compensation for this role will depend on education, experience, skills, and location.
