Job summary

Purvis Industries, a family-owned industrial distributor with over 75 years of experience, seeks an inside sales professional in Waco, TX. You will assist with counter sales, handle inquiries from multiple channels, and support outside sales through quotations and order processing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous inside sales, customer service, industrial distribution, warehouse, or related experience preferred.
• Legal to work in the United States and able to pass a background check.
• Technical aptitude and willingness to learn company products and applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with counter sales and customer service activities as needed.
• Process inquiries received by phone, email, mail, online platforms, or other channels.
• Support outside sales by preparing quotations, bids, and customer orders.
• Enter and maintain customer orders, quotes, bids, and related sales documentation.
• Purchase products necessary to fulfill customer orders.
• Quote and sell products that provide value to customers while supporting profitability.
• Identify, contact, quote, and close sales opportunities with customers.
• Utilize catalogs for product, pricing, and availability information.
• Resolve customer concerns and coordinate with management for support.
• Increase sales through cross selling, up selling, add on sales, and promotional products.
• Promote and sell excess inventory and discontinued products.
• Handle customer complaints, returns, and service issues professionally.
• Provide after hours support to internal and external customers when required.
• Maintain and expand product knowledge to support customer needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with counter sales and customer service activities as needed.
• Process internal and external customer inquiries received by phone, email, mail, online platforms, or other communication channels.
• Support outside sales personnel by preparing quotations, bids, and customer orders.
• Enter and maintain customer orders, quotes, bids, and related sales documentation.
• Purchase products necessary to fulfill customer orders.
• Quote and sell products that provide value to customers while supporting company profitability goals.
• Identify, contact, quote, and close sales opportunities with prospective and existing customers.
• Utilize electronic and printed catalogs to provide product, pricing, and availability information.
• Resolve customer concerns and requests or coordinate with management for additional support when necessary.
• Increase sales through cross selling, up selling, add on sales, promotional products, and new product offerings.
• Promote and sell excess inventory and discontinued products.
• Handle customer complaints, returns, and service issues professionally and courteously.
• Provide after hours support to internal and external customers when required.
• Maintain and expand product knowledge to effectively support customer needs.
• Monitor competitor products, pricing, and market activity.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain positive customer relationships.

Requirements

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous inside sales, customer service, industrial distribution, warehouse, or related experience preferred.

Physical Demands

• Ability to regularly lift and move products weighing up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to stock and retrieve products stored from ground level to heights of up to six feet.
• Ability to load products into delivery vehicles with bed heights of approximately three to four feet.
• Ability to climb stairs while carrying products and materials.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
• Ability to work in office, warehouse, and customer service environments.
