Job summary

Fabick Cat is seeking an Inside Sales Representative – Rental to drive rental revenue through proactive outreach and timely responses to inquiries and quotes. This role focuses on developing new and reactivated customers for the Rental business, coordinating with branch teams to offer equipment solutions and convert opportunities into bookings.

You will collaborate with Rental Consultants, Branch Managers, Outside Sales, and other Fabick Cat teams, maintaining CRM discipline and a strong service

Job Summary:

The Inside Sales Representative – Rental (ISR) is responsible for generating rental revenue through proactive customer outreach, timely response to rental opportunities, and consistent follow-up on open quotes, lost and dormant accounts, and marketing-generated leads. This role serves as an inside sales resource for the Rental business, with a primary focus on developing new and reactivated customers rather than managing day-to-day counter transactions. The ISR actively identifies rental opportunities, responds to customer inquiries and quote requests, recommends appropriate equipment solutions, and converts opportunities into rental business.

The ISR works closely with Rental Consultants, Branch Managers, Outside Sales Representatives, and other Fabick Cat teams to provide a seamless customer experience and ensure opportunities are appropriately developed and transitioned. Success in this role requires a strong sales mindset, disciplined outbound activity, effective customer communication, and consistent CRM use to document and manage the sales pipeline.

Responsibilities:

• Create a warm, professional, and helpful experience for every customer in person, by phone, and electronically.
• Ask thoughtful questions to understand the customer, the job to be done, timing, and equipment needs.
• Take ownership of customer requests and follow through until the need is resolved or a clear next step is established.
• Recommend appropriate rental equipment based on customer needs and partner with branch resources when additional expertise is needed.
• Prepare quotes and rental contracts and ensure required documentation and insurance coverage are complete and accurate.
• Coordinate with operations, service, sales, and other teams to support equipment availability, delivery, pickup, and customer commitments.
• Respond to customer concerns with urgency, empathy, and a solution-oriented mindset while keeping the customer informed.
• Support in-store sales, equipment inventory activities, and parts ordering for rental equipment as needed.
• Build working knowledge of Fabick Cat Rentals equipment and stay current on changes, capabilities, and applications.
• Represent Fabick Cat Rentals with professionalism, accountability, and a genuine commitment to serving customers well.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Two or more years of customer-facing experience in service, hospitality, retail, sales, or a related environment required.
• Demonstrated service orientation: listens well, shows genuine care, and looks for ways to make the customer experience easier.
• Polished, confident communication skills with the ability to build trust with a wide range of customers.
• Strong judgment, ownership, and problem-solving skills, especially when priorities or customer needs change.
• Learning agility and interest in developing equipment knowledge and rental expertise; prior rental or equipment experience is preferred, not required.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and follow through on commitments.
• Strong phone, written, and in-person communication skills.
• Comfort using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and business systems; accurate data entry required.
• Interest in building meaningful expertise and growing within the rental business over time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The employee is frequently required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, bend, and stoop to perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
