Job summary

SRS Distribution Inc. in Washington, DC is seeking an Inside Sales professional to provide product knowledge on drywall and related building materials.

You will assist customers by taking orders, answering questions, and guiding purchases with exemplary service. Responsibilities include handling orders at the counter and over the phone, learning product details, and collaborating with Outside Sales Reps to craft effective sales strategies.

Position Summary

The primary function of Inside Sales is to provide product knowledge on building materials including drywall, insulation, metal studs for drywall, ceiling systems, stucco, construction tools, construction safety items, drywall compound, and accessories for the drywall industry.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Taking orders at the sales counter and over the phone.


• Building relationships with customers.


• Ability to use company computer system to enter orders.


• Complete sales orders and tender cash sales.


• Develop product knowledge to assist customers with purchases.


• Collaborate with Outside Sales Reps and Sales Managers to determine necessary strategic sales approaches.


• Overcome objections of prospective customers.


• Emphasize product/service features and Launch your career with a national building materials distributor and discover opportunities for growth and advancement.

The base salary for this position typically falls within the range of $19.00 to $23.89 per hour.

Starting wage may vary based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position being offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.

SRS Distribution offers additional competitive and non-financial benefits. Hourly associates may be eligible for overtime based on business needs. Depending on the role, associates may also be eligible for performance-based bonus programs, commissions, car allowance or automobile and fuel program, and reimbursement for travel expenses in accordance with company travel policy.
