Job summary

National General Holdings Corp., part of The Allstate family, seeks an Inside Property Adjuster for our Claims team. This fully remote role reviews claim details, analyzes coverage, assesses damages, and negotiates fair settlements with policyholders and vendors.

The ideal candidate will handle most homeowner first-party claims with independence, in a hybrid capacity where local area travel may occur.

Job Description

Responsible for investigating and confirming the facts of loss for Homeowners Claims. Determines coverage, damages and otherwise adjusts and negotiates claims within limit of authority. This role works independently, prioritizing own responsibilities.

National General is seeking an Inside Property Adjuster to join our Claims team! This is a fully remote position that offers the opportunity to investigate, evaluate, and resolve residential property claims. In this role, you will review claim details, analyze coverage, assess damages using available documentation and estimating tools, communicate with policyholders and vendors, and negotiate fair claim settlements.
Key Responsibilities
  • For claims involving fraud or subrogation, partners with assigned reps from those areas to achieve best outcome
  • Demonstrates intermediate understanding of insurance policies written by the company, the industry, and organizational relationships within the company and department
  • Handles investigation regarding most aspects of homeowner first party claims (coverage, damages, subrogation) with the exercise of discretion and independence within increased level of authority
  • Recognizes and identifies key components of residential construction and repair
  • Identifies customer needs and works to meet those needs using appropriate customer service skills
  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of systems and technology used within the company
  • Learns how to determine subrogation or fraud potential and how to handle.
  • This is a Hybrid position- if a claim is in your area, possible field travel if needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • This job does not have supervisory duties.

Sign On Bonus:

You may be eligible for a $1,000 Licensing Sign on Bonus if you have the applicable active licenses needed for this role. This could include Home Resident Property & Casualty License, Designated Home State (DHS) Florida or Texas License, and/or applicable Appraiser License.

*Current employees or candidates who have previously worked for Allstate, including its family of companies, are not eligible for this sign-on bonus.*

As a requirement of employment, individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment. Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team. By proceeding with the application process, applicants acknowledge and accept these licensing requirements and agree to comply.

Compensation

Base compensation offered for this role is:
Inside Adjuster Cons I: $53,500 - $77,800
Inside Adjuster Cons II: $56,000 - $82,500
Inside Adjuster Sr Cons I: $65,650 - $104,100
And is based on experience and qualifications. Total compensation for this role is comprised of several factors, including the base compensation outlined above, plus incentive pay (i.e. commission, bonus, etc.) if applicable for the role.
