Job summary

DCG ONE is seeking an Inserter Operator to set up and monitor high-speed inserter equipment on a Monday-Friday 2nd shift. The role requires knowledge of USPS regulations and the ability to work with various job specifications on a daily basis.

Candidate should be reliable, have strong computer skills, be mechanically inclined, and willing to learn new skills. Regular attendance is required with potential overtime including nights and weekends on an industrial production floor.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of related experience or training.
• Ability to set up and monitor high-speed inserter equipment.
• Knowledge of USPS mailing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review production work orders and coordinate with other departments to gather missing information.
• Operate Pitney Bowes FPS inserting system / VDP Inline inkjet.
• Set up machines for different job specifications (A7, #10, 6 x 9, 10 x 13).
• Read job tickets and adjust machines to meet requirements.
• Familiar with inline inkjet and variable data.
• Familiar with match inserting using 2D, 3 of 9, Code 128 barcodes.
• Reconcile jobs in the online reporting system.
• Knowledge of USPS mailing requirements.
• Ability to lift 35 lbs, stand for 8 hours, overtime including nights/weekends.
• Identify maintenance needs for machinery.
• Monitor running of machines and train other operators.
• Troubleshoot problems and take corrective action, notify supervisor of issues.
• Communicate information to other shift operators.
• Work with safety in mind and report unsafe circumstances.
• Be willing to work in other departments if requested.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and quality.

Job description

SHIFT: Monday - Friday 2nd shift 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm. DCG ONE is one of the largest privately held marketing service providers in the country. Based in Seattle, with locations in NYC and Maryland, we help companies deliver their brand worldwide through creative, print, and fulfillment services.

About The Role

The Inserter Operator sets up and monitors the high-speed automated inserter equipment. This position will set up machinery for specific job specifications to produce expected results. This position requires knowledge of USPS regulations and mailing/sorting Knowledge of USPS regulations as it pertains to mailing letters, flats etc. is needed to operate machinery for set up and monitoring during operation. This position will work with multiple different jobs, each with different specifications, on a daily basis. Regular attendance is necessary, and overtime might be needed (including nights and weekends).

• Familiar with match inserting using 2D, 3 of 9, Code 128 barcodes


• Reconcile jobs in online reporting system


• Knowledge of USPS mailing requirements


• Ability to lift 35 lbs, be on feet for 8 hours, overtime as needed including nights and weekends.

• Troubleshoot problems and take corrective action, make repairs, and notify supervisor of difficulties.

• Work with safety in mind and report any potential unsafe circumstances.

• Maintain a high level of accurate and quality assured work.


• Follow and adhere to HIPAA and FSC company guidelines.

This position works on the production floor in an industrial warehouse setting.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
