Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center is seeking an Inpatient Wound Care Registered Nurse to assess, treat, and manage complex wounds in an acute care setting. The RN collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to promote healing and prevent complications while pursuing WOCN certification.

Requirements include an accredited nursing degree with a CT RN license and a minimum of 2 years Med/Surg experience. Certification within 24 months is encouraged; BLS/CPR is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred and required for WOCN certification.
• Valid RN license in Connecticut.
• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg in an acute care setting; strong wound care experience preferred.
• Commitment to obtain WOCN certification within 24 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patient wounds to develop individualized care plans.
• Perform wound care procedures, including cleaning, dressing, and debridement.
• Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Provide expert wound care as a WOCN-certified RN or while enrolled in WOCN coursework.
