Job summary

Select Medical Rehabilitation Hospital at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Therapy Aide to join the inpatient rehab team. This per diem/PRN position supports therapists through patient handling, transfers, and setup of equipment to assist therapy sessions.

The role emphasizes safe patient movement and proper use of orthotic devices, with an experienced team guiding your growth. The position requires a high school diploma and BLS certification (or completion within 90 days).

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• BLS certification or completion within 90 days of employment is required.
• POETs testing is completed as part of onboarding before the first day of work.

Responsibilities

• Assist therapists by carrying out patient-related tasks.
• Help transfer patients to/from mats, therapy devices and wheelchairs.
• Support with patient transfers to all surfaces and positioning for therapy sessions.
• Assist with donning/doffing appliances and preparing patients for standing with orthotic devices.
• Transport patients to and from therapy sessions as needed.
• Set up equipment and help with patient positioning for therapy sessions as outlined by the therapist.
