ProMedicas Flower Hospital seeks a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist for the Psychiatric Unit. The role involves assessing patient needs, designing activity therapy plans, and implementing group programs to improve functional levels.

This part-time position requires strong communication and collaboration with patients, families and providers. You will document weekly treatment notes, update treatment plans and report progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in a related field is required.
• CPR-BLS certification required.
• Three to five years of experience in an inpatient psychiatric unit or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work with patients, families and staff.
• Ability to operate machinery and input/retrieve information from computers.

Responsabilités

• Assess patient needs, interests and abilities and develop activity therapy goals.
• Design, implement and adjust individual and group programs to improve functioning.
• Assess daily patient functioning and document weekly treatment notes and plans.
• Provide progress reports and adjust goals/behavior as needed.
