Job summary

Palo Verde Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a creative, energetic Therapeutic Group Facilitator/Recreation Therapist to join our inpatient team in a full-time role. You will design and lead groups using art, music, movement, mindfulness, and psychoeducational activities to help patients build coping skills and recovery.

This position welcomes candidates from clinical, creative arts, wellness, and therapeutic backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Behavioral Health is required.
• Certified in modality of choice is preferred for psychoeducational/process groups.
• Experience facilitating therapeutic groups and working in behavioral health is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide groups ranging from art, yoga, movement, wellness, psychoeducation, and process groups to enrich patient experience and promote wellness.
• Facilitate therapeutic, wellness, and psychoeducational groups on assigned inpatient units.
• Lead activities that promote coping skills, holistic wellness, communication, and recovery.
• Use creative approaches such as art, movement, mindfulness, education, and group discussion.
• Encourage patient participation while maintaining a safe, supportive environment.
• Monitor patient progress, complete assessments, and document promptly and accurately.
• Adapt group material to the needs of the population and presenting issues.
• Complete assessments of patient needs and document group participation and response per standards.
