Job summary

Duke Raleigh Hospital, a campus of Duke University Hospital, in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Inpatient Surgical Oncology unit (4700). The role covers 12-hour rotating day/night shifts on a 32-bed unit, focusing on pre-/post-operative care across diverse populations including head & neck, GI, breast, and more.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's in Nursing (or higher), eligibility for NC licensure within 90 days, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher) is required.
• All CNIs must enroll in the DUHS Nurse Residency Program within 12 months of hire.
• CNIs without a Bachelor's degree must enroll in BSN within two years and complete within five years.
• Nurses hired with a valid compact license must obtain NC nursing license within 90 days of start date.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide professional nursing care for patients per NC Board of Nursing scope.
• Assist other nursing staff and participate in policy development and responses.
• Provide direction and guidance in proper use of physician-ordered care and policies.
• Collect and analyze patient data and develop nursing care plans.
• Lead or assist as charge nurse for group of patients or entire unit.
