Job summary

Protouch Staffing is seeking a compassionate Nurse Practitioner (FNP or AGNP) for an inpatient substance use treatment setting in Pasadena, MD. The NP will ensure continuity of care, support safe medical withdrawal management, and respond to client medical needs. Collaboration with the clinical team is essential.

Active state licensure in Maryland (FNP/AGNP), DEA, and CDS licenses are required. 1 year of NP experience is required; 2+ years preferred.

Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license (FNP or AGNP) in Maryland.
• Active DEA license.
• Active CDS license.
• Maryland state licensure to practice.
• At least 1 year of full-time NP experience; 2+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care to clients in an inpatient substance use treatment setting.
• Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary clinical team to manage client care.
• Support and oversee medical withdrawal management and related medication needs.
• Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations and medical evaluations.
• Assess clients for medical appropriateness for admission.
• Prescribe medications as clinically indicated, including medications related to withdrawal management.
• Conduct medication passes and oversee ongoing medication management.
• Schedule and manage client medications through the EMAR system, ensuring accuracy and timely administration.
• Order and review appropriate laboratory testing and develop treatment plans based on findings.
• Respond to client medical concerns in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.
• Recommend and coordinate external medical referrals when necessary.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation.
• Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and confidentiality.
• Participate in the development and improvement of medical policies, procedures, and clinical processes.
• Build positive and collaborative relationships with clients and interdisciplinary staff.
• Provide required on-call phone coverage.
