Job summary

ChristianaCare West Grove Hospital is seeking an experienced Inpatient RN for night shifts (7pm-7am) in a fast-paced micro-hospital environment. You will handle high-acuity patients, including ventilated cases, with collaboration via Telemedicine and Teams.

Weekend coverage, holidays, and PRN availability are required to support safe staffing and patient care. The ideal candidate holds an Associate's Degree or Nursing Diploma (BSN preferred), an active PA RN license, 2+ years in Telemetry/ICU,

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred.
• Current state RN licensure, required.
• 2+ years RN experience in Telemetry/ICU or related healthcare positions, required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred; ENPC may substitute for PALS.
• Must be fluent in English (written and oral).
• Act 33 and Act 73 clearances completed within last 5 years, or obtained before start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate, nursing care using advanced clinical knowledge.
• Follow physician orders in delivering nursing care.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information.
• Adhere to infection control and aseptic techniques.
• Collect labs and perform lab testing per policies and regulations.

Position Overview:

ChristianaCare West Grove Hospital is seeking Inpatient RNs who are clinically strong, adaptable, and able to manage a higher-acuity patient population in a fast-paced micro-hospital environment. This role requires experience with critical drips, cardiac rhythm recognition, respiratory support, and collaboration through Teams and Telemedicine platforms. Candidates must be comfortable supporting short-term stabilization of critically ill patients - including ventilated patients - while awaiting transfer to a higher level of care. Scheduling expectations include weekend coverage, holiday rotation and defined PRN availability requirements to support safe staffing and patient care needs.

Essential Job Functions:

• Plan, prioritize, and provide proficient, age-specific and developmentally/specialty appropriate nursing care by applying advanced specialty clinical nursing knowledge and skills and for ensuring the comfort and safety of patients/families
• Follow physician's orders in the delivery of nursing care
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality of information and records at all times
• Adhere to required infection control, isolation procedures and aseptic techniques in the delivery of patient care
• Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with established policies and procedures, as well as COLA and CLIA regulations
• Perform admission, discharge and transfer procedures
• Assemble equipment and supplies for various diagnostic or treatment procedures in the specialty service area; perform or assist others with procedures or treatments
• Handle care in accordance with legal, hospital/facility, departmental policies and procedures, and established standards of nursing care and practice, as defined by the Board of Nursing for that State.

Other Job Functions:

• Perform all Quality Assessment activities assigned and document
• Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree or Nursing Diploma required; BSN, preferred
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse without sanctions, required
• 2+ years full-time RN experience in Telemetry/ICU, or 2+ years combination experience in related healthcare positions, required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, required; PALS strongly preferred (ENPC certification from ENA may be substituted for PALS certification)
• Position requires fluency in English; written and oral communication
• Pennsylvania RN's: Act 33 (Child Abuse History Clearance), Act 73 (FBI Fingerprint Criminal History Clearance) completed within the last 5 years, or must be obtained prior to start date.
