Job summary

Central Peninsula Hospital in Soldotna, Alaska is seeking an Inpatient Registered Dietitian to plan, coordinate and participate in nutritional care for in-patients. The role requires collaboration with food service, nursing and medical staff to ensure patient needs are met and physician orders are followed.

The position may cover outpatient dietitian duties as needed and involves quality improvement work, including Joint Commission activities, with leadership oversight.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition.
• Successful completion of dietetic internship;
• American Dietetic Association Registration required.
• Alaska licensure required at time of hire.
• Prefer a minimum of one year work related experience.

Responsibilities

• The Inpatient Registered Dietitian plans, coordinates and participates in the nutritional care process of the in-patient population, assuring quality nutritional care.
• Coordinates with food service staff, nursing and medical staff to understand patient needs and ensure diet-related physician orders are followed.
• This position will cover for the outpatient dietitian as needed.
• Participates in quality improvement programs concerning clinical services and in the Joint Commission process, including annual reviews with the Chief Nursing Officer.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in nutrition

Successful completion of dietetic internship

American Dietetic Association Registration

Alaska licensure

One year related experience (preferred)
