Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

To provide quality clinical nutrition services and nutrition education to patients in a variety of age groups. To plan, conduct, and evaluate nutrition educational programs.

EDUCATION:

Bachelors or advanced degree in foods and nutrition from an accredited institution. Completion of an internship approved by the American Dietetic Association.

EXPERIENCE:

At least one year experience as a clinical dietitian in a hospital or other health care facility.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Registered Dietitian (active status) or registration eligible. Group process skills. Demonstrates effective interaction and communication (oral, writing, presenting) skills to communicate and interact with patients, and their families, physicians, hospital personnel, and other Food and Nutrition Services staff. Ability to perform work accurately and pay attention to details. Ability to function competently and maintain composure during stressful situations and changing work environment related to changing patient needs, including working with patients with acute, chronic, and complex disease processes. Ability to work cooperatively with health-system, patients, family members, and multidisciplinary team members (i.e. , physicians, Rehab, Respiratory, DI, Lab, etc.). Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities
