Job summary

Commonwealth of Massachusetts seeks an experienced and licensed psychiatrist to lead inpatient psychiatric care at Lemuel Shattuck Hospital. The Attending Psychiatrist will supervise a multidisciplinary team and supervise PNPs, PAs, residents, and trainees while delivering comprehensive psychiatric treatment to adults with severe mental illness.

• Skilled in understanding, diagnosing, and treating serious mental illness.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate the efforts of others in accomplishing work objectives.
• Talent for establishing and maintaining professional relationships with patients, staff, and family.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the clinical supervisor of the multidisciplinary treatment team and the supervisor of the psychologist on assigned unit.
• Supervises Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and/or Psychiatric Physician Assistants, Psychiatry Residents, and other trainees.
• Provides comprehensive, quality active psychiatric services to patients with timely evaluations and ongoing assessments.
• Meets regularly with patients and treatment team; attends clinical rounds on the inpatient unit.
• Oversees discharge planning and coordinates with outpatient providers for continuity of care.
