Job summary

Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) is seeking a Psychiatrist for Georgia Regional Hospital Atlanta to provide inpatient psychiatric care, lead multidisciplinary teams, and guide recovery-focused treatment plans. This full-time role offers professional liability coverage and opportunities for on-call compensation.

Location is GRHA in Atlanta with days schedule; base salary ranges from $224,400 to $272,400 annually depending on qualifications, with generous

Qualifications

Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
Successful completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program.
Current unrestricted Georgia medical license or eligibility.
Board eligibility or board certification in psychiatry.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and ongoing assessments.
Diagnose and develop individualized, evidence-informed treatment plans.
Prescribe, monitor, and adjust medications per standards and policy.
Lead or participate in multidisciplinary treatment- and recovery-planning meetings.
Collaborate with psychologists, nurses, social workers, counselors, pharmacists and others.
Complete clinical documentation accurately within established timeframes.
Support continuity of care and safe transitions to community-based services.
