Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Adult Inpatient Psychiatry unit at Anna Jaques Hospital. The RN will provide direct and indirect psychiatric nursing care to adults, promoting safety, recovery, dignity, and therapeutic engagement in line with the hospital’s mission.

You will participate in assessment, care planning, patient and family education, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• RN license in Massachusetts required.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• BLS certification required.
• Advanced AVADE training maintained annually.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma‑informed, patient‑centered psychiatric nursing care.
• Complete admission and ongoing mental health assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care.
• Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans.
• Involve patients and families in treatment planning.
• Provide education using clear explanations and teach‑back methods.
• Maintain a safe, secure, and therapeutic milieu.
• Demonstrate competency in de‑escalation techniques.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately.
• Follow hand‑off communication and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary psychiatric care team.
• Participate in staff meetings and quality improvement.
