Job summary

Qualifications

• Current, valid, unrestricted Registered Nurse license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or CPR Healthcare Provider.
• One year of full-time RN experience in an acute care setting in the United States within the last five years.
• BSN holders with six months of acute care RN experience may substitute for the one year requirement.

Responsibilities

• Administers intravenous therapy and prescribed medications per MD orders.
• Prepares equipment and assists physicians during procedures and examinations.
• Assesses patient needs, plans and implements nursing interventions, and documents outcomes.
• Coordinates patient care and discharge planning; provides patient and family teaching.
• Directs nursing staff and mentors new nurses; promotes safe, evidence-based care.
• Participates in quality improvement and ongoing learning.
