Job summary

View Behavioral Health LLC in Long Beach, California, seeks an Registered Nurse for our inpatient unit. The RN will provide direct and indirect psychiatric care under supervision, performing assessments, med administration, care coordination, and documentation in a fast-paced team setting.

The role requires California RN licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and strong clinical judgment. LPS training and credentialing are mandated, with 12-hour shifts available to support 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Licensed RN in California with active status.
• Experience in behavioral health nursing.
• Knowledge of DSM-5 and psychiatric medications.
• Ability to assess, monitor, and care for adult psychiatric patients in inpatient settings.
• CPR/BLS certification required or obtainable within 90 days.
• Proficient in EHR documentation and clinical data entry.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive and focused physical assessment relative to presenting complaints and mental health status.
• Relates data to mental health staff to design medical treatment plans.
• Applies non-violent crisis intervention and uses restraint protocols when necessary.
• Administers prescribed treatments and medications per protocol.
• Maintains accurate patient documentation in EHR or paper charts.
• Responds to medical emergencies and performs CPR as needed.
• Learns and maintains LPS designation and related credentialing requirements.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA, patient rights, and regulatory standards.
