Job summary

FirstHealth of the Carolinas is seeking a Psychiatric Physician Assistant to provide inpatient coverage on a PRN basis, one to two weekends per month, for a 30-bed adult unit in Pinehurst, NC. Rounds and ED/hospital consults will be performed, with strong teamwork and supportive environment.

PA candidates must graduate from an AMA-approved PA program with NCCPA certification and hold NC licensure and NC DEA, plus ACLS. NP candidates with FNP/PMHNP may be considered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program with NCCPA certification.
• Experience as NP with FNP and PMHNP certifications may be considered.
• Strongly prefer 2+ years of advanced practice experience in behavioral health.
• Clean background NC licensure, NC DEA, and AHA ACLS certification required.

• Round on patients in the 30-bed inpatient unit and provide hospital and ED consults.
• Excellent clinician collaboration, supportive environment.
• Provide inpatient coverage one to two weekends per month.

FirstHealth of the Carolinas – a private, not-for-profit premier health care network serving the mid-Carolinas - is seeking a Psychiatric Physician Assistant to provide inpatient coverage one to two weekends per month.

• Hospital employed (W-2) PRN position.
• 30 bed adult inpatient unit with average daily census in the mid-20s, shared between providers.
• Round on patients in the unit and provide hospital and ED consults.
• Excellent clinician collaboration, supportive environment.
• Within an hour of Raleigh, Fayetteville, Greensboro, Lumberton, and Laurinburg. About two hours from Charlotte.
