Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an Inpatient Physical Therapist to help patients regain strength, mobility, and independence in a hospital setting. You will perform evaluations, develop treatment plans, provide therapy across inpatient services, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and families.

You must graduate from an accredited PT program, hold current SC licensure, and maintain AHA BLS.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist by the South Carolina Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to providing patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and treatments in accordance with established standards of practice.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and functional abilities.
  • Provide physical therapy services across various inpatient settings.
  • Initiate and complete evaluations and treatment plans at the patient’s first scheduled appointment.
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
  • Provide therapeutic exercise programs and patient/family education to promote independence and safe mobility.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation, including evaluations, treatment plans, daily progress notes, discharge summaries, exercise programs, and patient/family education within 24 hours of each visit.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to support the best possible outcomes.

What You’ll Do
