Job summary

MultiCare Tacoma General Hospital in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Patient Services Representative (PSR) to support our Lab Services. You will be responsible for patient registration, order entry, phlebotomy and specimen processing across the location, with potential duties including specimen pickup, report sorting and delivery, and supply delivery.

This role is part of the float pool and requires availability to float to Allenmore Hospital, Tacoma General, Good Samaritan, Auburn Medical, Covington

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Current Medical Assistant-Certified or Medical Assistant-Phlebotomy Certification, or eligible and must complete training within 90 days of hire.
• Phlebotomy training or course completion preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience and ability to interact with the public.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and enter orders for lab services.
• Perform phlebotomy and process specimens.
• Possibly pick up specimens, sort and deliver reports, and deliver supplies.

Requirements

• Completion of phlebotomy course or training preferred
• Phlebotomy experience preferred
• Previous experience dealing with the public preferred

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $24.40 - $37.14 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
