Job summary

UPMC is hiring a Full Time Pharmacy Technician, Intermediate to support inpatient, satellite pharmacies, and travel to outpatient clinics. Rotating daylight/evening hours with some weekend/holiday coverage. Sign-on bonus of $5,000 with a 2-year commitment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program
• Two years of Pharmacy Technician experience or enrollment as a pharmacy student (active status)
• Demonstrated competency in several required skills (per program validation)

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and adequate stock.
• Prepare sterile and non-sterile medications using aseptic technique.
• Document and track all medication records per regulatory standards.
• Travel to outlying clinics to inspect medication storage and handling.
• Support distribution of medications including carts, cassettes, and dispensing machines.
• Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure accurate dispensing and patient safety.
