Job summary

Vail Health in Colorado seeks a Pharmacy Technician to support inpatient operations and assist in dispensing, stocking, and inventory management. The role includes handling Pyxis medstations, IV admixtures, and ensuring proper storage and compliance.

You will lead stock ordering, label packaging, and maintain controlled substance inventory while providing phone support and inter-department service. HIPAA compliance and ongoing training are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in the healthcare industry preferred.
• Provisional Colorado Pharmacy Technician Certification (PHATP) required.
• Excellent typing and computer skills, able to complete online learning requirements.

Responsibilities

• Fill medication orders accurately, including Pyxis Medstations, with proper storage and waste handling.
• Prepare IV admixtures or other sterile preparations per policy.
• Lead ordering, receiving, storing and rotating stock to maintain inventory.
• Repackage into unit dose packages and create bar-code labels as needed.
• Monitor controlled substances inventory; resolve Pyxis discrepancies promptly.
• Answer phones and respond to service requests in a respectful, timely manner.
• Attend training and complete online competencies as required.
• Complete inter-departmental billing by the 5th of each month and submit to Accounting.
• Schedule technician coverage for required shifts monthly.
• Submit approved invoices to accounting for payment.
• Model Just Culture and organizational values; perform other duties as assigned.
