Job summary
UNITED Pharmacy Staffing is seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacy Technician for a contract opportunity at a hospital in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. The ideal candidate will have hospital experience and specialized training in sterile compounding, including hazardous drug handling.
The successful hire will support inpatient pharmacy operations, medication preparation, and safe and accurate medication distribution, following USP 797/800 guidelines. Start date: ASAP.
Qualifications
- Previous inpatient or hospital pharmacy technician experience.
- Licensed Pharmacy Technician in Wisconsin.
- PTCB or ExCPT certification.
- Cleanroom training and sterile compounding experience.
- Hazardous drug handling experience.
- Attention to detail and medication safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with inpatient operations and medication distribution.
- Prepare, compound, label, and package medications per USP 797/800.
- Perform sterile compounding in a cleanroom, including hazardous medications.
- Support dispensing, inventory management, and replenishment of automated dispensing cabinets.
- Use pharmacy information systems to process orders and document accurately.
- Follow medication safety, infection control, QA, and hazardous drug procedures.
