Job summary

BJC Home Care is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient 2 for a full-time daytime role to support sterile and non-sterile compounding and medication transport under supervision.

You will collaborate with the home infusion team, perform medication order prep, manage documentation, and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Preferred candidates have 2–5 years of experience, State Board Pharmacy Registration and Pharmacy Tech Certification, and a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• State Bd Pharm Registration and Pharmacy Tech Certification required.
• Previous sterile compounding and/or home infusion experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains QA standards and required documentation; regulatory compliance.
• Assists in preparation of medication orders, workflow management, basic preparation, dispensing, and non-sterile compounding.
• Uses automated/electronic systems for product preparation, inventory, patient records and compliance.
• Supports inventory activities: storage, ordering, rotating, beyond use dating, cleanliness.
• Pursues proficiency in sterile preparations and advanced skills.

Are you nationally certified pharmacy technician looking for your next adventure? Our experienced home infusion team is looking for a full-time Pharmacy Tech 2. In this role, you will focus on a variety of sterile compounding activities.

Previous Sterile Compounding And/or Home Infusion Experience Strongly Preferred.

Overview

BJC Home Care offers patients and their families a complete range of home care services, including skilled nursing services, adult and pediatric hospice and supportive care, rehabilitation therapy, home infusion therapy, infusion treatment rooms, home medical equipment and high-tech respiratory care. Specialty home care programs also are available, including adult and pediatric asthma, cardiac, diabetes, orthopedic and wound care programs.

The Home Infusion Therapy Department of BJC Home Care Services works closely with physicians, patients and caregivers to enable patients to remain or return home while receiving intravenous medications. Our services include 24 hour on-call pharmacy and nursing services, comprehensive patient education materials, patient assessment and drug administration monitoring, and coordination of professional services including home care nursing and laboratory services.

Role Purpose

The Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient 2, under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and according to standard procedures, prepares medication orders, and assists in dispensing & transporting medications. This position also conducts sterile and/or non-sterile compounding, uses various automated/electronic systems and maintains the required documentation & records.
