Additional Information About the Role

Are you a pharmacy tech looking for a new adventure? In this position you will be responsible for maintaining IV fluid inventory levels throughout the hospital by stocking nursing units, pharmacy locations, and automated dispensing cabinets. This role performs daily inventory assessments, distributes IV fluids using stocking carts, reconciles inventory discrepancies, and communicates significant variances to leadership to ensure continuous product availability.

The position requires frequent movement of heavy IV fluid cases (35+ lbs.) and pushing loaded carts throughout the facility.

Role Purpose

The Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient 1, under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and according to standard procedures, assists in dispensing and transporting medications. This entry level position learns to conduct non-sterile and/or sterile compounding and is responsible for maintaining the required documentation & records.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation; maintains regulatory cleanliness compliance.
  • Assists in the preparation of medication orders, to include workflow management, basic preparation & dispensing, and non-sterile compounding.
  • Uses automated/electronic systems to manage product preparation, inventory, patient records, and regulatory compliance.
  • Supports various inventory activities, to include inventory storage, ordering, rotating, beyond use dating, and cleanliness.
