Job summary

SEARHC in Alaska seeks a licensed Pharmacist to ensure safe, effective drug therapy and patient outcomes. The role emphasizes clinical judgment, patient education, and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and village staff.

You will oversee dispensing, participate in quality improvement, and support long-term care initiatives while adhering to state and federal laws and SEARHC standards.

Qualifications

• Pharm.D. degree and licensure as a registered pharmacist.
• Unrestricted pharmacist license in any state.
• CPR/AED certification within 1 year of hire.
• Residency program preferred (ASHP recognized).
• Clinical and high-risk competency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Reviews prescriptions for appropriateness, safety and therapy efficacy.
• Advises patients and prescribers on drug therapy and outcomes.
• Directs pharmacy staff and ensures timely dispensing.
• Participates in quality improvement and formulary decisions.
• Provides education to staff and healthcare teams.
• Supports long-term care medication management when assigned.
