Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health in Hackensack, NJ is seeking a Registered Nurse in Inpatient Pediatric Oncology to provide direct, patient- and family-centered care in a collaborative hospital setting.

You will collect data, perform age- and disease-specific assessments, coordinate a care plan, administer medications with barcode technology, and communicate progress to families and the healthcare team. Night shift, per diem schedule.

Qualifications

• Associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing is required.
• BSN in progress or willingness to acquire within three years of hire.
• Six months of relevant nursing experience or completion of Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
• Perform age- and disease-specific assessments independently.
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
• Develop and coordinate a patient/family-focused plan of care.
• Communicate and implement the plan of care effectively.
• Provide ongoing communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Administer medications utilizing advanced bar-scanning technologies.
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
• Initiate interventions related to changes in patient condition.
• Adhere to the American Nurses Association Code for Nurses.
