Indiana University Health Medical Group South Region seeks a compassionate Hospice and Palliative Medicine physician to join the palliative care team in Bloomington, IN. Primary inpatient focus with potential outpatient and virtual roles, supporting patients across south-central Indiana.

The role emphasizes partnership with an interdisciplinary team, teaching opportunities with IU School of Medicine, and involvement in program development and quality initiatives based on interests.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Hospice and Palliative Medicine fellowship training required.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
• Eligible for Indiana medical licensure.
• Open to experienced physicians, fellows, and graduating trainees.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient palliative care consultations, follow-up care, and symptom management.
• Lead goals-of-care discussions with adults with serious illness.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physicians, NPs, nurses, and social workers.
• Support outpatient and virtual palliative care program growth.
• Participate in call coverage, primarily weekdays 7 a.m.–7 p.m.
• Teach medical students and residents through the Indiana University School of Medicine.
