Baystate Health is seeking a Director of Patient Care Services for Behavioral Health and Medical-Surgical Nursing at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA.

This leadership role provides strategic and operational oversight of inpatient nursing services across behavioral health and medical-surgical areas, partnering with physicians, nursing leaders, and operations to deliver safe, high‑quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Massachusetts.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Master's degree required.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive nursing leadership experience in an acute care, behavioral health, psychiatric, or related inpatient clinical environment.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, operational leadership, human resource management, and financial management.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for Behavioral Health and Medical Surgical nursing services.
• Develop and evaluate policies, programs, and services that support the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
• Lead nursing leaders through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and professional development initiatives.
• Foster collaborative relationships across disciplines and departments to improve patient outcomes, operational effectiveness, and organizational performance.
• Direct fiscal planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and financial performance management across assigned areas.
