University of Maryland Capital Region Health is seeking a compassionate Advanced Practice Provider to join our Nursery Team on a 0.5 FTE schedule, four 10-hour shifts every two weeks. You will care for healthy newborns, educate families, and collaborate with physicians and nurses in a growing obstetrics service.

This role offers part-time flexibility, training across newborn nursery care, inpatient coverage and home-call responsibilities, with a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • RN experience required.
  • Completion of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Active Maryland NP license.
  • Graduate of ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • NCCPA certification.
  • Active Maryland PA license.
  • One year of nursery, newborn, pediatric, or related clinical experience.
  • BLS certification required.
  • NRP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform newborn assessments and daily rounds.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage newborn patients.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic testing.
  • Partner with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary team members to provide exceptional care.
  • Educate and support new parents during a life-changing experience.
  • Perform procedures including newborn circumcisions.
  • Help families confidently transition from hospital to home.

Nurse Practitioners
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • RN experience required.

  • NCCPA certification required.
  • Active Maryland PA license.
Preferred Experience
  • One year of nursery, newborn, pediatric, or related clinical experience.
Certifications
  • BLS certification required.
  • NRP certification preferred.
  • Eligible for credentialing through the University of Maryland Capital Region Health Medical Staff Office.
