Aurora Psychiatric Hospital in Wauwatosa seeks a Nursing Assistant to support an inpatient adult unit. You will assist with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and collaborate with the Registered Nurse to implement the plan of care for each patient.

Under RN oversight you will learn to administer medications as delegated, help with time management during shifts, and ensure safety while lifting/moving patients. This role requires adherence to age-specific care and hospital policies.

Formación

• Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved nursing program.
• Successful completion of a Medical Surgical Clinical course.
• Successful completion of a Pharmacological Concepts course.

Responsabilidades

• Under RN supervision, completes activities of daily living and vital signs.
• Collaborates with RN to establish plan of care based on patient needs.
• Evaluates patient response and communicates observations to RN.
• Develops delegation skills for Health Unit Coordinators and Nursing Assistants.
• Administers medication as delegated by the RN.
• Assists with time management to handle increased patient load.
• Collects and synthesizes patient data to identify needs.
• In emergencies, participates in activities with supervision.
• Performs patient positioning and transporting duties using proper technique.
• Provides age-appropriate care according to unit policies.
