Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Registered Nurse - Inpatient Mental Health (Intermittent) in West Haven, CT.

The role supports an inpatient MH unit with variable day/evening/night shifts and a non-virtual work arrangement within the VA Connecticut Healthcare System. The nurse provides care grounded in recovery-oriented principles, engages in psychoeducational activities, and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and education throughout the care

Qualifications

• Current, full, unrestricted RN license in any US State or territory.
• Education: ADN/BSN/MSN from ACEN/CCNE accredited programs.
• Experience in inpatient psychiatric care and team-based care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver fundamental, knowledge-based care to psychiatric inpatients.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care by age-specific needs.
• Administer medications per policies; participate in handoffs and rounds.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and support recovery-oriented care.
