Job summary

The Mental Health Technician role at Parham Doctors' Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, supports a safe, therapeutic milieu through vigilant observation, documentation, and direct patient care. You will work with the inpatient behavioral health unit, assist with ADLs, monitor vitals, and respond to changes in a patient’s condition under RN supervision.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, BLS, and either six months of psychiatric experience or a bachelor’s degree in psychology;

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program
• Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider required
• Six months psychiatric experience or internship in an acute behavioral health setting required
• One year experience in acute behavioral health setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Collect and document admission and shift behavioral and physical data and observations.
• Perform vital signs, BP, and accuchecks; report abnormalities to RN.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living and treatments within competency.
• Provide behavioral health care interventions using least restrictive approaches.
• Ensure safety of patients, visitors, and staff; conduct routine and special safety checks.
• Act as sitters for behavioral health patients and assist on other floors as needed
