Job summary

Griffin Memorial Hospital in Norman, OK is hiring Mental Health Technicians for inpatient behavioral health support. You will provide direct and indirect patient care, assist with therapeutic activities, and help maintain a safe, therapeutic environment under supervision.

Two levels exist: Level I with no experience and Level II requiring 1 year of behavioral health care. Weekend work is required; travel and a valid driver's license may be needed for some assignments.

Qualifications

• Level I: No education or experience required.
• Level II: One year of behavioral health patient care experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provide Direct and Indirect Care: Support patients individually and in groups within an inpatient behavioral health setting.
• Ensure Safety and Well-Being: Participate in de-escalation strategies and help ensure a safe environment that meets patients’ physical and emotional needs.
• Serve as a Role Model: Demonstrate effective problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and coping skills.
• Assist with Therapeutic Activities: Facilitate or support recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities that enhance emotional and mental wellness.
